Quinton R. Markett

CEO & President

Hi, I am Quinton Markett. I am currently a Senior Biochemistry major at Loyola Marymount University, a volunteer EMT and a Silicon Valley native. I was born in Santa Clara and raised in Los Gatos. As a graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory and a current student at Loyola Marymount University I have been exposed to the Jesuit tradition for over six years and value the rich history of service. Personally, I believe it is our duty to do what we can to help the marginalized members of our society. The COVID-19 pandemic has left many unable to provide for themselves. Jack and I have volunteered together at City Team, San Jose to prepare meals for those who have fallen upon hard times. I am also a member of Bible Way Christian Center in San Jose where I have partaken in providing bags of fresh produce to homeless citizens. I have the experience and the drive necessary to effectively aid those in need. Jack and I would love for you to join us on our mission. I am honored to serve on our board of directors.

COO & Executive VP

Hi, I am Jack Rasmussen. I am a third-year student at the University of Southern California majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Cinematic Arts and Sports Media Industries. I want to utilize my media and art studies to compound my management and leadership skills to one day create a thriving business that educates underprivileged abroad through puzzles and engaging interest. As an entrepreneur who loves to study businesses and the stock market, I regularly keep tabs on what people need in their lives and how I can help to manifest innovative change. In my hometown of Los Gatos, I have realized there is a shortage of food in grocery stores and this reflects the wider rising demand for essential food in Silicon Valley. After years of volunteering at City Team, a soup kitchen in San Jose, I have grown to love helping and connecting with people less fortunate than me. Especially during hard times like these, we need a foundation created by people who know how to connect with the disadvantaged, and more importantly where they are. Because Silicon Valley is such a hotbed for innovation, sometimes the hungry and needy are overlooked. My friend, Quinton, and I want to directly face the issues we have and utilize our studies to create a Foundation that does not beat around the bush and, instead, directly serves the hearts of Silicon Valley citizens. Quinton’s Biochemistry knowledge and my management, marketing, and media skills will be utilized to feed Silicon Valley in the most efficient way possible, especially during hard times. Nutrition and efficiency will be taken into account in all our decisions. If you have some cash or some non-perishable items you can donate, please do. Anything helps. Innovations come sometimes. We are human all the time. I am honored to serve on our board of directors.

Hi! I’m Dylan Nakahara. I am a junior at Loyola Marymount University, studying Information Systems and Business Analytics. I am also passionate about stock trading, the outdoors, and helping others! Starting from Cub Scouts by earning my Eagle Scout rank, I have always enjoyed giving back to my community and other communities around me wherever I may be. My responsibilities as VP of Treasury involve ensuring our finances are in order and using the donations that we receive to their fullest potential. We are always extremely grateful for donations and always want to provide the most for the Silicon Valley community!

Bryan Kim

VP of Management

Hello, I’m Bryan Kim, a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School, hoping to study psychology in college. I have been volunteering to provide food and other essential items for our community since the eighth grade through the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVDP). However, unlike SVDP’s soup kitchen style, the Good Samaritans of Silicon Valley’s direct interaction with the people without housing opened me up to new experiences. I started timid, trying to talk as little as possible. Now, I am eager to learn more about the people we serve. If you feel this way on your first few service days, talk to me for some tips! As VP of Management, I will be present at the service days to lead and coordinate where we go, how we pass out resources, and how we interact with the people we help. Though I never saw this coming, I am so grateful to be part of the Good Samaritans of Silicon Valley community.

Thy Nguyen

VP of Service

Hi, I’m Thy Nguyen, and I’m a junior at Leland High School. I was born and raised in Vietnam up until 2017, and I moved to the Bay Area with my family to continue my education. Helping other people has always been a passion of mine, and I deeply value the importance of kindness and benevolence. In the past, I have volunteered with Sacred Heart and multiple nursing homes. Given the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, with many people greatly affected from losing jobs to their own homes, I believe that it’s my duty to help the community, even with the smallest acts. I have been working with Good Samaritans of Silicon Valley since September 2020, and I have been honored to go out and provide food and hygiene items to the community while getting to learn more about them as people. As VP of Service, my responsibility is to prepare for and overlook service days. My roles include ensuring that we, as volunteers, are able to build strong connections with the community and coordinating food and supplies to distribute on our service days. I am also currently President of the GSSV Chapter at Leland High School, and I aim to gather more volunteers from our student body. I am honored to serve and be a part of the GSSV team!
